Geneva underground
Where to go out?
- Check out this calendar for info about gigs, parties, exhibitions and other.
- L'Usine is the central point of Geneva's underground night life, with plenty of concerts, movies and theater plays. Check out their agenda. But that is likely to be your #1 go-to destination anyway.
- For those around the weekend before the conference, there is a free outdoor jazz festival organised by the main Geneva Jazz Club (AMR) in the Parc des Cropettes (by the central Cornavin train station). Nice place to chill with a drink!
Where to swim?
- Bains des Pâquis: Very popular place in Geneva. It's got a restaurant and a women-only place to chill by the lake
- Perle du Lac: Big parc with many lake access . You can also check out the Science Museum and go even further to the botanical garden while you are there.
- Plage des Eaux-Vives: Public beach with commodities
Where to rent a bike?
Cycling is the preferred way to commute around Geneva. You have two options:
- Genève Roule: A nice place to rent bikes. They also have a map to visit Geneva if you are feeling adventurous.
- Donkey Republic: A bike sharing service.
What to see and do?
- The botanical garden is always worth a detour. You can also take the opportunity to walk along the lake on the Quai Wilson.
- Tired of the city? You can take the cable car to the Salève - i.e. the closest mountain.
- If you want to elevate yourself without going to the Salève, you can also visit the Saint-Pierre Cathedral in the Old Town, where you can reach higher horizons both spiritually and physically (that is, you can climb it).

Public transportations
Your IAVCEI SA registration gives you access to public transportations.
- TPG: Public transportations in Geneva, they also have an app.
- Mouettes: Literally "sea gulls", this is a boat service that is included in Geneva's public transportation service. It's a nice experience to chill on the lake.
Crate digging
- There is flea market on the Plaine de Plainpalais every Wednesday and Saturday. This is literally just opposite the conference venue.
-
